Return and Refund Policy
At Takumi Select Japan, we specialize in high-value graded collectibles, trading cards, and unique pre-owned vintage items. To ensure a safe and secure marketplace for collectors worldwide, our return policy complies with global e-commerce standards while protecting against mail fraud and item substitution.
1. 30-Day Return Policy
We accept return requests within 30 days from the date of delivery. Whether the return is due to a change of mind or other reasons, buyers must contact us and initiate the return process within this 30-day window. Please note that we do not accept exchanges, as most of our inventory consists of irreplaceable, one-of-a-kind items.
2. Return Shipping, Duties & Round-Trip Costs (Buyer's Responsibility)
- Round-Trip Shipping & Duties: For all change-of-mind or buyer-convenience returns, the buyer is 100% responsible for all round-trip shipping costs and import duties/taxes.
- DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) Notice: Even if the item was originally shipped under DDP terms (where we prepaid the import duties and taxes on behalf of the buyer), the exact amount of prepaid import duties, taxes, and handling fees, along with the original outbound shipping cost, will be strictly deducted from your final refund amount.
- Shipping Method: Returns must be shipped using a reliable carrier with a verifiable tracking number and signature conversion upon delivery. The package must be fully insured for its original value. We are not responsible for returned items that are lost or damaged in transit.
3. Strict Return Conditions (No Exception for Item Condition)
To be eligible for a refund, the returned item must meet the following strict criteria, regardless of whether it was originally sold as brand-new or pre-owned/vintage:
- Zero Usage & Exact Same Condition: The item must be returned in the exact same, unaltered condition as it was originally dispatched. Absolutely zero additional handling, wear, or usage is permitted. Even for items listed as pre-owned, vintage, or secondary market items, they must not be used, worn, or handled further in any way after delivery.
- Graded Cards & Sealed Items: For graded trading cards (PSA, ARS, BGS, etc.), the tamper-evident slab/holder must remain unopened, unscratched, and unsealed. For limited-edition sets (such as LEGO), the original retail packaging must remain factory-sealed and undamaged. Any signs of handling, opening, or alteration will void the refund.
4. Anti-Fraud & Verification Process
To prevent mail fraud and illegal item swapping:
- All returned items undergo a rigorous, documented inspection by our team upon arrival at our facility in Japan.
- We cross-reference every returned product with our internal high-resolution packing logs, serial numbers, and unique item characteristics recorded prior to original shipment.
- Refund Processing Time: Approved refunds will be processed within 10 business days after the returned package is safely delivered to us and successfully verified.
- Fraud Notice: Any attempt at fraudulent returns, item swapping, or tampering will be reported immediately to international e-commerce platforms, payment processors, and local law enforcement agencies.
